This is not official -- but we've never seen Fourth of July fireworks crowds as big in the Brooklyn Heights/Fulton Ferry/Dumbo area as we saw last night.
The shot above shows the Brooklyn Heights Promenade -- always a zoo -- more than an hour before the show. Looks like the DOT was right: full capacity, 70 - 80,000 people.
Fulton Ferry Landing was also packed. To the left is Bargemusic, with those smart folks who bought tickets to the performance up on the roof.
Empire State Park/Brooklyn Bridge Park must have been the most civilized place to watch the works. Everyone here seemed to be having a relaxed, old-fashioned good time.
