New Downtown Brooklyn Deli -- F. Martinella -- Now Hiring

The new deli at 119 Court Street at State now has a sign saying it's to be an F. Martinella deli. (The talk was it was going to be a Boar's Head deli, which it may still be . . .)

According to the sign, F. Martinella was established 1949.

That's a little shorter than earlier talk. Massey Knakal broker Tim King said at the November session of the Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable that the tenant was "a company that's been in the food production biz for the last hundred years." (See Brownstoner)

Oddly, there is no online trace of F. Martinella at all.

Anyway, according to the sign, the store is hiring August 20, 21 and 22 at the Brooklyn Marriott between 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
