Blip Festival in Brooklyn -- Old Video Games Turn Into Music and Art

Blip Festival 2008: The Promo from Richard Alexander Caraballo on Vimeo.

Remember your old Nintendo Gameboy?

"Archaic" game and home computer hardware is turned into musical instruments and motion graphics workstations in the BLIP FESTIVAL 2008, a four-day event showcasing nearly 40 musicians and visual artists occupying "the international low-res cutting edge."

Chipmusic practitioners and fans from around the world are converging in Gowanus as we speak for 8-bit micromusic live sets, electronic music and blazing graphics.

The Blip Festival takes place December 4 - 7 2008 at The Bell House in Gowanus, and is presented by Manhattan art organization The Tank and NYC artist collective 8BITPEOPLES.
