Photographs and those who love them took over DUMBO at the New York Photo Festival this past weekend.
Exhibitions were staged in the various neighborhood galleries, and informally as well on scaffolding and on the streets. Outdoor projections took place at Brooklyn Bridge Plaza and we heard about (but couldn't attend because we had house guests with other plans) what was billed as "the largest potluck on Earth," staged for the Guiness Book of World Records.
Good-sized crowds from all over packed the exhibits, the workshops, the restaurants. (Can you imagine the cumulative effect of an event like this PLUS a totally functioning Brooklyn Bridge Park?)
