The moon often appears to be orange when close to the horizon, but last night the moon was bright orange when it was fairly high in the sky.
The Internet tells us that this means there is pollution or high humidity in the air.
On the other hand, it could be an omen.

I go with the Omen.
ReplyDeleteI live in N.E. Ohio (Cleveland area)and I was very amazed at the orange color of the moon last night. I spotted it at 11:45 p.m.
ReplyDeleteI saw it (in Brooklyn), and yes it seemed very high to appear that color. Heat dome? Angry gods?
ReplyDeleteAccording to various astronomy websites, for the first time in century's, venus appeared directly between the sun and the moon last night, making it appear orange. I think it was not an omen but a scientific miracle.
