Hazardous Weather Outlook for Brooklyn Late Tuesday (June 12, 2012)

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for Brooklyn late Tuesday through Wednesday morning.

The alert says:
"THERE IS THE POTENTIAL FOR PERIODS OF HEAVY RAIN ASSOCIATED WITH A SLOW MOVING COLD FRONT LATE TUESDAY THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING. RAINFALL RATES MAY EXCEED 1 INCH PER HOUR WHICH COULD RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING IN FLOOD PRONE AREAS."

UPDATE: The hazardous Weather Outlook has been downgraded toa forecast of buckets of rain. The new forecast for Wednesday is:

Showers likely before 11 a.m., then a slight chance of rain between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. The rain could be heavy at times. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. Northeast wind 7 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
