Shooting in Downtown Brooklyn Near Shake Shack Monday Night

A 26-year-old man was shot in the shoulder Monday evening as he was walking near Willoughby and Pearl streets in Downtown Brooklyn, according to NBC.

Willoughby and Pearl, shown in the Google Map street view above,  is right around the corner from Panera Bread and Shake Shack. (The building in the photo above is the back of the Panera Bread building at 345 Adams Street.) The street on the right is Pearl Street.

NBC said the victim, a security guard, was across the street from the DA's office but if he was actually near Willoughby and Pearl streets, he was a block away from the DAs office.

UPDATE: The NY Daily News says the victim was walking on Pearl Street, shown in the photo to the right. (That's the location of Brooklyn Friends School, luckily out for break.)

The News reports that the man was robbed of a great deal of cash, and was not cooperating with investigators.

The victim was rushed to Bellevue Hospital, where he was listed in good condition.

UPDATE 2: The NY Post reports that the suspect was seen wearing all black and leaving the scene on a 10-speed bike.
