Fireworks going up on the west side of Manhattan tonight (Sunday, June 28) visible from NYC and New Jersey (and not so well in Brooklyn) at 9:45 PM are part of the NYC gay Pride celebration, sponsored by Heritage of Pride.
They're being shot off in the Hudson River Safety Zone south of Pier 40.
Heritage of Pride calls the fireworks "the world’s longest-running LGBT fireworks display over the Hudson River."
