The plans call for 1.6M square feet of office and retail space.
Welch said the goal will be "to bring in high-end retail like Brooklyn's never seen—something like the Time Warner Center."
Atlantic Yards Report speculates:
"If that report is correct--and we don't know that it is--that would shift the entire square footage once planned for B1 to Site 5, making an enormous--and to my eyeball, unrealistic--building. (The City Point project in Downtown Brooklyn near Junior's is 1.9 million square feet.)"

Hope all is well, and not sure how many readers you have so perhaps it is just me but I miss the regular daily long link updates :(
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting us know. We'll keep it up.
ReplyDeleteThanks McBrooklyn. I hope you have more readers than just me but I do like the links for stories that I would otherwise not see or know about.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention that what makes your links now so important is that other blogs have withered (Brooklyn Heights Blog, for sad reasons) or changed markedly (Brownstoner, for marketing and advertising purposes), which leaves you standing alone.
ReplyDeleteThe food looks amazing and such a fun venue!
ReplyDeleteDon't know if Brooklyn's version of Time Warner Center will attract the high end food purveyors, however. Maybe the more artisonal vendors.
