Ex-Champ Kobayashi Arrested at Nathan's Hotdog Eating Contest

Crazy goings on at the Nathan's Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island today.

Ex-champ "The Tsunami" Takeru Kobayashi, not in the competition this year, jumped up on the stage after Joey Chestnut won the mustard yellow belt and had to be dragged off by the police, who arrested him.

According to his interpreter, Kobayashi did not compete today because of a contract dispute with the sponsors. According to the NY Times, Mr. Kobayashi was charged with resisting arrest, trespassing and obstruction of governmental administration.

Joey Chestnut downed 54 hot dogs in 10 minutes to win the hallowed event.
