As Pier 1 Buildings Disappear, Brooklyn Greenway Appears One Step Closer

This is all that was left of the buildings on Pier 1, the site of part of the future Brooklyn Bridge Park, as of 10 a.m. Friday.

The designs for the Pier 1 site call for two sloping lawns, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. The Brooklyn Greenway, which received a thumbs up from Community Board 1 on Tuesday, will run along the edge of the pier.
