New City Point Design Gets Preliminary Approval -- Downtown Brooklyn

The new design for the first phase of City Point in Downtown Brooklyn (at the site of the now-torn-down Albee Square Mall) got preliminary approval Monday from the city’s Public Design Commission, according to the Brooklyn Eagle.

There are still a few kinks to be ironed out, so current renderings are not yet available. City Point was once projected to be the tallest building in Brooklyn by far.

As a "stalled project," City Point was chosen to receive $20 million in federal stimulus financing.
