BP Adams to Set Up a Public Breastfeeding Station at Brooklyn Borough Hall

Wikipedia.org
Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams is set to support the city’s expansion of public breastfeeding zones, at a Brooklyn Borough Hall press conference this morning.

To show his committment, Adams will be setting up a public breastfeeding site inside Borough Hall.

This support is paralled to "The Brooklyn Breastfeeding Empowerment Zone" in Bedford Stuyvesant, funded with a $1.2 million grant by the WK Kellogg Foundation. The city is working with local businesses and organizations to establish areas where women can breastfeed.

Adams is calling his program Family Friendly Brooklyn. According to the United States Census, there are roughly 200,000 Brooklynites under the age of five, a figure higher than the New York State average.

Advocacy organizations supporting Borough President Adams’ Family Friendly Brooklyn initiative include 1199/SEIU Healthcare Workers East; A Better Balance; Brooklyn Perinatal Network, Inc.; Citizen Action of New York; Community Service Society of New York; Delta Children; New York Working Families; New York Paid Family Leave Insurance Campaign; New York Paid Leave Coalition; Seleni Institute; Worksites for Wellness; and YWCA of Brooklyn.
