It started to lightning and thunder, but then it cleared right up without any rain at all. Good omen.
Though the show was scheduled for about 7 p.m. according to the papers, everyone didn't even get inside the bandshell area till almost 8. We weren't checking the time (it was dark and we had to keep the balloons bouncing) but we think Dylan came on stage about 8:20.
What a beautiful night and what a mellow crowd. Dylan came on wearing a black cowboy suit and flat-brimmed hat and got right into it. Honestly, his voice is shot to pieces, but it got better as the show progressed and there was a lot of love. The band was really first rate.
Here's the first five songs: Rainy Day Women; Lay Lady Lay; Lonesome Day Blues; Girl of the North Country and the Levee's Gonna Break. You can see the whole set list at Bob Links.
We weren't supposed to bring cameras in so we just shot one cellphone photo, no flash.
