Hospital staffers were told late Tuesday.
SUNY's Board of Trustees were scheduled to hold a special hearing on Thursday afternoon regarding the fate of LICH, with a public comment period starting around 3:30 p.m.
The hearing is obviously a sham -- since the decision was made months ago, the Brooklyn Eagle reports.
Roy Sloane, president of the Cobble Hill Association, told the Eagle on Tuesday, “I don’t think anybody’s being fooled,” he said. “It’s a mockery of the public process.”
And that about sums it up.

Please write a post on saving the LICH playgrounds. It will otherwise get ignored by the press and politicians.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to appeal to guilt-go to Bob Guskind's old blog and search for LICH playground. He was very helpful in getting the many problems fixed that otherwise were getting ignored.
ReplyDeleteLet's save this hospital! Closing LICH is a wrong. SUNY's purchase of LICH was a travesty. We need our hospital. Let's stop this real estate deal.
ReplyDeleteSenator Squadron's office is urging LICH supporters to attend the Community Forum about LICH on Thursday Feb. 14th from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Kane Street Synagogue at 263 Kane Street (between Court and Clinton).
