Seems we've been running across some interesting old maps lately. The Brooklyn Historical Society is featuring a very old one (above) created by Brooklyn surveyor Teunis G. Bergen, who copied it from an “ancient map,” probably made before 1750. The map roughly covers modern-day Brooklyn Heights south to the Gowanus and shows buildings and names of landowners.
