The Nets are set to launch the sale of 104 luxury suites at the future Barclays Center next month, according to The Real Deal.
It's not yet clear what the suits would go for. At Madison Square Garden you can rent a private hospitality suite for the Big East Men's Basketball Tournament for roughly $12,000 for a full day (4 games) or $50,000 for a full tournament (that's 8 sessions =15 games). Food and drinks are not included. But MSG is scheduled for a renovation over the next couple of years, and the new suite pricing is anybody's guess.
Luxury suites at the new Yankee Stadium run from $600,000 to $850,000 a season. Yankee Stadium's suites include access to the private lounge, personal concierge service, a private entrance, elevator and concourse, Wi-Fi and Sony HDTVs and more.
In response to the bad economy, according to the Wall Street Journal, teams are "offering financing for season tickets, shortening contract commitments on luxury suites, and in the case of the Yankees, re-designating seven unsold suites as 'party suites,' sold on a game-by-game basis."
