Kids 'Stand for Love' in DUMBO

Photos by MK Metz
No a harsh word was said about President-elect Donald Trump last night at the “Stand for Love” event near Jane’s Carousel in DUMBO.

Instead, a large crowd of parents and kids gathered together to reject hate.

There was music of the "This Land Is Our Land" variety, kid crafts from Creatively Wild, and brief statements from local politicians.

Organized by moms from Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO, the "non-political event" was meant to "show love and support for everyone in a time when many people are in need of both."

Brooklyn Day Care Shut Down After Wiffle Bat Incident

NBC NY reports that a Brooklyn day care (Bethel Daycare) has been shut down after a worker was caught on video "hitting children with a wiffle ball bat."

Health officials and children's services officials began investigating after receiving a complaint from a staff member, NBC says.

Perhaps the video on the news site does not show the hitting in question. Its quality is poor, and you need to expand it to full size to see anything at all. Still, what this video looks like to us is more like tapping and less like hitting. Anyone see any abuse here?
