Manhole Explosion on Third Avenue in Park Slope, Power Out

An electrical fire broke out at a manhole near 309 Third Avenue in Park Slope Sunday night at roughly 9:40 p.m.

FDNY told the dispatcher, "It's sparking pretty good" and "It appears to be a primary wire."

"Con Ed and OEM will get there as soon as they can," the dispatcher told FDNY.

According to the Con Ed website, roughly 200 customers are without power in that area.
