Local Roots CSA Opens in Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill, Williamsburg and Tribecca

A new CSA is coming to Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill / Boerum Hill, Williamsburg and Tribeca. The CSA is quite unique -- members can pick and choose from a variety of share products, which means members can get the week's groceries all at one CSA location. Below is more information:

The Local Roots CSA is now accepting members for the 2011 Summer Season:

Local Roots is a unique CSA model designed to offer greater convenience for its members with features like enhanced product variety and payment flexibility. Members have the opportunity to pick and choose product shares, allowing members the convenience of picking up a week's worth of fresh, locally grown groceries at one distribution location.

Local Roots offers vegetable, fruit, duck, beef, egg, grain/bean, juice, and/or bread options. The summer season runs from June - August, so members pay upfront for 12 weeks of produce as opposed to 24 weeks (there will be a Fall CSA as well). By paying for half a season upfront, the group hopes this will be a bit more flexible for members.

CSA locations are in Cobble Hill/Boreum Hill, Carroll Gardens, Williamsburg, and Tribeca.

Check out all the details on the website and sign up for shares before they are sold out. Membership applications are due May 23, 2011.
