LICH Nurses Take Fortis - NYU to Court in Brooklyn Today (Thursday)

Former LICH nurses will be in Brooklyn's state Supreme Court at 10 to confront Fortis-NYU about their refusal to keep their promise to hire LICH nurses to work at NYU's clinic at Long Island College Hospital.

As part of the Fortis Property Group’s bid to buy the LICH campus in Cobble Hill, NYU promised to “preserve the legacy of excellent care provided at LICH” by maximizing the number of rehired LICH nurses at the walk-in unit.

Brooklyn politicians recently voiced support for the LICH nurses and other healthcare workers.

State Senator Dan Squadron, Assemblymember Joan Millman, Councilmembers Brad Lander, Carlos Menchaca and Steve Levi, and now  Councilmember Mark Treyger issued statements supporting the workers.
