Hi McBrooklyn,
Mother Nature is actually so incredible that it made sure that buds on trees can survive very harsh winters.
Trees as well as flowers buds like daffodils and crocuses have a natural anti-freeze substance that protects them.
Cold is really ever a problem in the spring after a few warm days. If the weather turns cold again, then the leaves and flowers can be damaged.
Stay warm
Whew! Thanks for explaining, Katia. This worries us every winter.
