I'm old enough to remember that was what people called him back in the day...

He was often called worse given his political hackdom and connection to bad machine rin Brooklyn politics.
Run not rin
Good thing about Howie: He was instrumental in blocking an incinerator at the Brooklyn Navy Yard, which would have spread pollution across Williamsburg.
