Stop Work Order at 166 Montague Street

Failure to have a standpipe in readiness caused a stop work order to be issued against the owner of the former Franklin Trust building at 166 Montague Street, according to the Brooklyn Eagle. (Of course, the giant inflated rat with weird pink eyes drew a bit of a crowd, as well.)

The 10-story building is being converted from office use to 33 dwelling units.

Do you know that this building is owned/being converted by a sponsor who has "converted" many buildings all over the city? He sells only a minority of apartments, so that he can control the building forever and run an unregulated rental business. He is frequently sued for many reasons.
