Is the Jig Up for Los Papi's at 77 Bridge Street in Dumbo?

Los Papi's restaurant: "Not for the healthy or vegan - good old stick to your ribs Spanish food with lots of sabor. But where else can you get a hot filling breakfast for under $4 in DUMBO?" (UrbanSpoon)

Looks like the jig is up. There's been a veritable blog cloud of reports about 77 Bridge Street, site of Los Papi's restaurant. Curbed, the Brooklyn Eagle, and DumboNYC (among others) are reporting that a new building is (most likely) going up at 77 Bridge.

The Brooklyn Eagle did some investigating: "A check of Department of Buildings records confirmed that an application has been filed for such a building but has not been approved. The developer is listed as Moshe Gold; the architect is identified as Karl Fischer." (See here for more.)

McBrooklyn visited Los Papi's this morning. We asked the counterman if a new building was going up at the site. He replied, "Anything can happen, the way things are."
