March Over Brooklyn Bridge for International Women's Day

Hundreds of women and their male friends gathered in Cadman Plaza Park yesterday for International Women's Day. They heard from speakers about the campaign to improve the lives of women around the world, then marched over the Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall Park.

Issues faced by women worldwide include poverty, death from childbirth, rape, and income inequality.

Bridge walks were a theme of the day through the "Join Me On the Bridge" project, organized by Women for Women International.
