Brooklyn Heights Association Annual Meeting Speaker: Clay Shirky, Social Network Guru

This year's Brooklyn Heights Association Annual Meeting features Clay Shirky as the guest speaker. Shirky will speak about what the internet does to culture. 

A professor at NYU, his courses address, among other things, "the interrelated effects of the topology of social networks and technological networks, how our networks shape culture and vice-versa." (Wikipedia)

Books: "Here Comes Everybody: The Power of Organizing Without Organizations" and "Cognitive Surplus: Creativity and Generosity in a Connected Age."

The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 27, at 7 PM at the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont Street.

BHA President Alexandra Bowie will open the meeting with a report of BHA activities, followed by Tom Stewart with a presentation of BHA Awards for Community Service.

This meeting will be open to the public. A reception with light refreshments will follow the meeting.
