There Goes Cranberry's Awning

Yep, they picked it up, threw it on a truck and drove away with Cranberry's awning yesterday. (Cranberry's is the cute little deli with home baked goods on Henry Street near Cranberry Street in Brooklyn Heights.)

We noticed that the awning had some faded or erased lettering that said "The New" before "Cranberry's."

At one point some years ago the owner sold the place to someone who didn't do as good a job with the food as the original owner.Eventually Jim took it back (hence, the "new") and it's been steady ever since.

That reminded us that Cranberry's started out on Cranberry Street, want to say in the '70s. We can remember buying cheese there way back then. Now we go for the muffins, home made.
