P.S. Bookshop opened its doors this weekend at 76 Front Street (at Washington) in DUMBO, just two blocks away from its cozy old location. P.S. is where we bring our gently used books and trade them in for someone else's gently used books. Though the doors are open, workers are still shelving books like crazy.
According to the Brooklyn Eagle, the primary reason for the move is to have a longer lease.
The store was aiming to be open at the start of 2010, but there were several delays, both logistical (work was being done without a permit), and adorable (a newborn son arrived "while in the thick of negotiating the lease."
While we loved the old space, something tells us that more tourists will wander into the shop at this highly visible Washington Street corner.
