Brooklyn and NYC: Watch Out for Flash Freeze, Strong Winds

NOAA symbol = "windy"
The National Weather Service is warning of rapidly falling temperatures resulting in flash freezing of standing water, and strong winds (25 - 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph) from 2 a.m. through 6 p.m. Thursday.

The agency says watch out for downed tree limbs and scattered power outages, as temperatures fall into the 20s.

Drivers of "high profile vehicles" may be buffeted by the wind, so exercise caution on the roads.
