Brooklyn Waterfront Artists -- 'Still Flying'

Weary travelers can catch a glimpse of it as they ride over the Manhattan Bridge towards Brooklyn on the B train.

On the next nice day, get off the train -- it's worth a visit to Dumbo to take in the Waterfront Artists Coalition's 25th Annual Sculpture Show -- Still Flying -- at Empire-Fulton Ferry State Park.

You can pack a picnic -- tables are scattered throughout the park. Otherwise, a few reasonable places to eat nearby include Grimaldi's Pizzeria, Bubby's, and Rice.

See www.bwac.org for more info.

Saw this from the Q train this morning and have been meaning to look this up.

Some very interesting pieces-- especially the "car" one, that harkens back to the Brooklyn Bridge underpass that once was the dumping grounds for scrap metal.
