NYU Wants to Transform Crummy MTA Building In Downtown Brooklyn To Spiffy New Science Campus

New York University has submitted a proposal to create a new engineering and applied sciences campus in Downtown Brooklyn -- at the deteriorating former MTA office building at 370 Jay Street.

According to the Brooklyn Eagle, the proposal is part of Applied Sciences NYC, an initiative of the Bloomberg administration aimed at raising New York to the level of Silicon Valley.

The college’s proposal would be separate from Brooklyn-based Polytechnic Institute of NYU (NYU-Poly).

More like a tin can-like transformation.

Or an old fish shack.
