Cystic Fibrosis Walk-a-Thon, Party in Cadman Plaza Park, Brooklyn

Did you hear the music Sunday morning in Cadman Plaza Park? (Downtown Brooklyn / Brooklyn Heights)

It was the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's 2012 Great Strides Walk-a-Thon: hundreds of volunteers walked over the Brooklyn Bridge and finished off in Cadman Park with a big old party.

There were games for the kids, food, music and dancing, courtesy of Partners In Sound DJ's, who kept the crowd on their feet for hours.

So this is where everybody learns all those new dance moves.

Lots of sugar on this man's arm.

Organizers said that today's event raised hundreds of thousands of dollars, which will go towards curing cystic fibrosis, a disease that attacks the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 young people in the United States.   More here.
