Large Dome of Hell Will Hit Brooklyn at Noon Thursday

Just stay inside tomorrow and Friday! The National Weather Service has issued an Excessive Heat Warning and warns that "a large dome of high pressure across the central United States will gradually build east and spread an increasingly hot and humid air mass across the region starting tomorrow afternoon."

There will be a "PROLONGED PERIOD OF HIGH HEAT AND HUMIDITY STARTING THURSDAY."

* HAZARDS...EXCESSIVE HEAT WITH AFTERNOON TEMPERATURES OF 95 TO 100 DEGREES BOTH THURSDAY AND FRIDAY.

* HEAT INDEX VALUES...UP TO 108.

* TIMING...THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING MAINLY FROM NOON UNTIL 8 PM EACH DAY.

* IMPACTS...POTENTIAL IMPACTS INCLUDE HEAT DISORDERS FOR CHILDREN...THE ELDERLY AND PEOPLE PERFORMING PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES DURING THE PEAK HEATING OF THE DAY.
