Uh-Oh, Looks Like Road Work's Coming to Cadman Plaza West

Though the Department of Transportation web site has nothing listed for Cadman Plaza West, something tells us that these cement babies aren't standing along the roadside near Clark Street for nothing.

Anybody know the use these large (you can stand up inside of one), hollow, heavy structures are put to?

They put similar structures into the ground under Cadman Plaza Park during the renovation, I believe.

There's one or two of these on Main St in DUMBO. They're a kind of cistern for storm water.

Maybe to slowly release the water after a heavy rain storm. I saw a large land-mover parked on Clark Street today.

they are working on drainage issues, which is related to the Monroe Place & Pierrepont construction currently being done
