Rain on NYC's 4th of July? After 5 Friggin' Years, Will 2014 Fireworks Be a Washout in Brooklyn?

The National Weather Service says the rain over Brooklyn will start late Tuesday or sometime on Wednesday, increase on Thursday, and keep on through Friday.

The tricky question is what happens to the fireworks display in NYC Friday night -- Independence Day, July 4? After five years, the fireworks will finally be coming back to Brooklyn, but the whole thing might be a washout.

The forecast for Brooklyn Friday night: While rain will be heavy during the day, with a 60 percent chance of precip, the odds of rain drop to 30 percent by fireworks time.

That means it will be raining over one third the viewing area, as far as we know at this time.

Will we be able to see the fireworks? As the big day draws closer, all we can do is wait and see!
