Remembering 9/11 -- Events in Brooklyn, 2008

No matter where you are in Brooklyn there is likely to be somewhere nearby to go, to join with others and remember September 11.

Concerts, dance performances, prayers, songs and candlelight vigils are being held throughout the borough.

Members of the Silver-Brown Dance Company, pictured here, were practicing yesterday at the cove in Brooklyn Bridge Park in preparation for tonight's "OASIS 5," a 9/11 memorial dance performance at 7 p.m.

The September Concert is a free concert series held on Sept. 11 in cities throughout the world. No fewer than 11 concerts will be held in Brooklyn alone. Borough Hall, for example, will host the Brooklyn Symphony Quartet from noon to 1 p.m.

On Bargemusic, a music memorial concert features selections by Bach, Bottoms, Chopin and Schubert. 8 p.m., Fulton Ferry Landing, Old Fulton Street at the East River. (718) 624-2083.

Other events are happening in Marine Park, Bay Ridge, Williamsburg and more. Check out the Brooklyn Eagle -- they've gathered together a list of events happening today all over Brooklyn.
