Catching Up with the Domino Sugar Factory in Williamsburg

As seen from the East River Ferry yesterday, the famous Domino Sugar sign is long gone and several refinery buildings have been demolished, as construction of Two Trees 4-million-square-foot project in Williamsburg continues. The building you see above will remain intact.

Shown above is that same building, surrounded by much taller buildings featuring "cutouts." When completed, there will be 2,300 apartment units and an office complex in the development.

Here's an Eternal Domino Sugar time lapse of the construction, via Instagram.  (First pointed to by Brownstoner.)
