No Place for Kids: Adams Street Bike Lane, Downtown Brooklyn

Maybe this mom doesn't know how dangerous Adams Street can be. She and her young daughter (training wheels!) were blithely riding north along Adams (approaching the Brooklyn Marriott) Thursday. As if they thought it was a real bike lane!

The city is trying all kinds of traffic calming throughout Downtown Brooklyn, but you still have to use a great deal of caution on Adams Street.

Adams Street is no place for kids.

No place for adults on bikes, either.

No place for pedestrians or motorcyclists.

No place for teachers out for a stroll.

No place for the random passerby.

Please be careful on Adams Street.

I agree 100%. That poor 8-year-old boy who died there was a tragedy. Let's not repeat it.
