Brooklyn Woman Throws Baby Down Eighth-Floor Trash Chute



An 18-year-old woman threw her newborn baby away -- stuffing it in a plastic bag and shoving it down a hallway trash chute -- from the eighth floor of the Walt Whitman housing project (on Cumberland Walk and Myrtle Ave.) in Fort Greene.

The building's super heard cries coming from a plastic bag and called 9-1-1. The baby is reported in stable condition at Brooklyn Hospital. According to the New York Times, police arrested Laquasia Wright Sunday night.

I think the city need to advertise the Safe Haeven Laws on buses,trains,buildings every where this is happening to ofter.

The whole situation is just plain sad. What conditions was the mother raised in herself to do something like this?
