The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Brooklyn and the surrounding area, warning of extreme heat and humidity, rip currents and poor air quality through tomorrow night (Tuesday, July 12, 2011).
The heat advisory remains in effect until Tuesday night at 9 p.m. It will feel like 100 degrees even if it isn't. The air quality alert remains in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday. Rip current risk remains in effect until Tuesday evening on all the ocean beaches of New York City and Long Island.
