Nepalese in NYC celebrated a day early with a parade in Washington Square Park on Sunday.
In Nepal, according to Wikipedia, Buddha's birthday is celebrated on the full moon day of the Vaisakha month of the Buddhist and Hindu calendar. This year, that falls on May 4.
