Some have scoffed (including us, at times) at the unfinished Montague Street Dime Bank, shown above. It's not an awfully impressive storefront and Montague Street needs another bank like a hole in the head.
But unlike WaMu, Citi and other banks, Dime reported "steady positive earnings" last quarter, according to SeekingAlpha. This quarter's earnings are coming out on October 24.
The stock price is down 9 percent in the last 30 days. Even so, over the last year the stock has outperformed Nasdaq, the S&P and the Dow.
Dime Bank was founded in 1864, and is headquartered in Brooklyn.
