P.S. 8 Paddlewheeler: Street Fair + Fashion Statement

Some strange and colorful hairdos were created on Hicks Street in Brooklyn Heights on Saturday. Beauticians covered up the faces of the innocent victims, then sprayed streaks of green, magenta and other bright colors onto their hair.

The results were dramatic!

The fashion hijinks were part of P.S. 8's Paddlewheeler street fair, attended by hundreds of local families. (We believe the spray was donated by Ricky's.)

There were plenty of good-time activities, like painting and arts & crafts, a bouncy castle and inflated slider, face-painting, a book fair, games, food decoration and flea market. Engine Company 205 came out and showed kids the truck.

Here, some customers wait for the bouncy castle.

Decorating cookies.

Really big flea market.

The Paddlewheeler is always great fun and it raises money for a good cause -- P.S. 8. (Now how are you going to get that out of your hair in time for work tomorrow?)
