BOO-HOO! All Sunday Halloween 2012 Events In Prospect Park, Brooklyn Are Cancelled

The ghosts are howling in Prospect Park:  All Halloween Weekend 2012 events for Sunday, October 28 in Prospect Park, Historic Lefferts House, Audubon Center and Nethermead are cancelled because of Hurricane Sandy.

The NYC Parks Department has announced that all NYC parks will close on Sunday, October 28 at 5 p.m. All events are cancelled after 2 p.m. on Sunday as well. Surfing is prohibited at all beaches throughout the course of the storm.

The Parks Department is urging people to stay out of parks and proceed with caution on tree-lined sidewalks in the event of falling trees or branches. To report downed trees or branches, please call 311. In case of emergency, call 911.

As of 5 p.m. Sunday, October 28: All city parks, playgrounds, beaches, recreation centers, nature centers and Greenmarkets are closed.
