The Brooklyn Headhunter: Brooklyn Trader Joe's! Apply This Week

It's been a long while since McBrooklyn gathered and published Brooklyn employment opportunities, but with the latest jobs figures just in, it seems like this might be a good time to do some headhunting.

TJs is an anomaly. Yes, these are crap jobs- low pay cashiering and stocking. However, they pay a bit higher than typical jobs in this category. The fallacy with TJs is the notion that you can move up. You can't, really. As a national chain, the upper management is already chosen, leaving 99% of the workers as "part time" (read: 35 hours a week) employees.

All of this for $11 an hour. Yay.

You learn a lot of good things in a job like this -- how to deal with the public, business skills, how to get to work on time and deal with your supervisor, etc. Not saying these are jobs for experienced, highly skilled workers. But a good place to start if you're interested in retail.
