Overcrowded PS 8 in Brooklyn Heights had its new portable classroom installed (as the Dept. of Education calls it, a TCU -- Transportable Classroom Unit) early Friday. Midddagh Street was closed all night while a crane lowered the two-piece metal classroom onto cement blocks.
Looks rather drab, but it's only temporary. The DOE announced recently that an annex will be built for the school in the back parking lot, just seen through the opening in the rear.
