Brooklyn's Bargemusic Rocks

Quite a bash at Bargemusic (at the foot of Fulton Ferry Landing, near the Brooklyn Bridge) this past weekend.

The Manhattan Symphonee with Mark Peskanov, soloist, performed Mozart's Overture to “The Marriage of Figaro” and more, and the crowd couldn't get enough.

It may look like the photo above is crooked, but actually the barge was really rocking! That's Manhattan across the way, bobbing up and down in time to the music. Bargemusic is a fabulous venue -- not only because it rocks, but because of the size of the space and the wonderful wooden paneling which gives it such a warm feeling and sound.

The incomparable Olga Bloom, who put Bargemusic together back in the 1970's with her own two hands, is still at the helm at the age of 89.
